Well while on my 300 mile round journey to Blackpool and back I was asked to test and review a new billet gear cable linkage produced by JB Fabs from Heckington , Lincolnshire. I fitted the very light but incredibly strong alloy item with a stainless pivot pin on the friday before the journey across the Yorkshire moors via Hull to meet up with some mates from the Hull Drifters SC. The position of the base plate was perfect and when placing the gear trunions in their fittings no movement was noticed . It was easy to place the cables through the holes in the trunions, and although the first hundred or so miles I had to re-adjust slipping cables this was due to the older trunions being not good enough to hold the cables correctlly. At Blackpool I fitted new trunions with alen grub screws which held the cables well, on the return journey the gearing on the GP200 was perfect . On inspection after the trip the linkage had no visiable wear or movement , superb and with maybe a gear adjuster block and gear tie bar in the same material these new products would more than match any stainless item on sale for Lambretta's at the moment in appearance . Please checkout JB's website for other products he is developing at this time or contact him direct http://www.jb-fab.com/contact.html .
