Racing test day at Mallory park with the DKS Replay race team started out cold but soon warmed up with Steve, Richard (bert) and Darren on the track putting the Chalkie built Lambretta's through their paces. With some fantasic support from their sponsors this season they are up for the challenge to bring home a few titles in the BSSO championships 2014. Craig Beadle at The Scooter Paint shop, Loughborough has produced many superb custom paint work for award winning scooters. Two of which I have recently feature in Classic Scooterist magazine, a red and white LML vespa with a classicle theme and a stunning orange Rally 200 that feature in the latest issue. Always willing to help with the most demanding of paint schemes give him a call if your planning a winter project at the minute. visit Craigs site for contact details The scooter paint shop. Once again Richard Addison Photography has secured the contract to shoot images for the Tata Kids of Steel Triathlon series . This year 2014 there will be 9 events in the series throughout the UK for 8-11 year old's to take part. Looking forward to meeting up again with my friends from the British Triathlon Federation . Yesterday travelled over to Goole to take some shots for Hatch Communications, Leeds of one of their clients http://www.burgesspetcare.co.uk/ .
Another successful year at the Burton Brewers Droop scooter season opener in Burton upon trent. The custom show once again produced some stunning machines of all types, Lambretta , Vespa and something that optimus prime would be proud of and when ferdy's beast started up in the courtyard before leaving it sounded like a chinook helicopter was passing over head AWESOME ! Hope everyone who is attending the evening do tonight have a great time and don't forget to pick up the next edition of Classic Scooterist in the middle of March to see all my photos. After 50 years living in Lincolnshire it's hard not to take the view of the Red Arrows display team practicing over head for granted. I still think it's amazing to watch as the team go through their paces around Scampton before the display season starts. So to be invited to the launch of the unveiling of the newly designed logo on the tail fin of the Reds hawk jets was one job close to my British pride. As a young boy my dad worked on Lincolnshire airbases and so I was lucky to be able to see the Red Arrows display team in those early days flying the Gnat aircraft. Well done to all the pilots and crew that are part of this world respected aerobatic display team. Eventually arrived home last night after a few diversions on the motorways in the storms . After a successful Photoshoot with Dave, Ken and Al of the Worksop Mod appreciation society guys we went to the Sherwood Ranger for a little bite to eat with the rest of the
team. Thanks to the girls for putting on a fantastic choice to eat and for all the banter in the Pub, the highlight being Bri showing us his medical before I left ... Scary. Hopefully I can do the scooters proud in Classic Scooterist when they are published but some very nice models have been gathered by this close group of friends who love to be part of the Scooter Scene even if they are approaching their twilight years . And I don't mean they are all vampires :) . thanks again for the great hospitality guys. Rich |
